Crystal Jade Mooncake Review

About Crystal Jade Mooncakes

For the Mid-Autumn Festival taking place on the 15th day of the 8th Lunar month each year, mooncakes are the favourite celebration pastry. Honouring the Moon Goddess of Immortality, the festival is also known as the Moon Festival hence where the pastries get their name.

If you are looking for variety, Crystal Jade is the place to buy your mooncakes this year. With 28 different types of mooncakes on their menu, you are bound to find a flavour that your palate will love.

The Product Selection

Crystal Jade not only create traditional baked skin and snow skin favourites but have additionally created a mousse mooncake selection too. Their mooncake selections bring in flavours from across the country to appeal to the tastes of all their customers.

The Snow Skin Selection

This colourful selection of mooncakes promises to please with a box of 8 mini mooncakes in four delicious flavours: Cranberry (with actual raspberry chunks inside the filling), Tangerine, Pandan bean paste and White lotus with salted egg yolk.

The snow skin outer layer beautifully encases the thick filling of bean paste or lotus paste for a silky smooth and sweet pastry. This selection may be on the sweet side for some but the salted yolk in the White lotus mooncake takes away some of the sweetness while the Pandan mooncake is toned down with the fragrance of the green bean paste.

The Traditional Baked Skin Selection

If you are still a lover of the traditional old favourite mooncakes, do not fear because Crystal Jade has got you covered. Their Quartet of Happiness Traditional Mooncakes is comprised of a plain white lotus paste mooncake, a mixed nuts and ham mooncake, a red lotus paste and double yolk mooncake, and a white lotus paste and double yolk mooncake.

These square-shaped delights offer a thin, moist outer layer with a filling that is not too overly sweet as is with the case of the snow skin selection.

The Mousse Mooncake Selection

The Mousse Mooncake selection is a more western take on these sweet treats. A box of Mousse Mooncakes is made up of Hazelnut, Oreo and Cheese, Chocolate with Marshmallow and Mango with Nata de Coco flavours.

These mooncakes consist of a thin chocolate cake layer at the bottom holding up a less-sweet and very dense mousse. The chocolate flavour is a little sweeter than the other flavours thanks to the pieces of marshmallow inside of the mousse. The Oreo and Cheese flavour pays homage to a decadent Oreo cheesecake and is simply scrumptious.

Crystal Jade’s mousse mooncakes are a top pick this Mid-Autumn Festival if you are after a beautifully smooth and decadent mooncake to share with your loved ones. What’s more is that they won’t break the bank either!

Beautifully Package

Crystal Jade takes great pride in packaging their mooncakes in beautiful boxes to make your mooncake experience one to remember. From the outside, the design seems very simple yet classic, but once you open the lid your eyes are met with a stunning gold inner casing. If beauty was not enough to wow their customers, Crystal Jade have thought one step further and added a small plastic knife to the box for your convenience to dig in right away.

The Order-Placing System

Crystal Jade has a full e-store where you can order and purchase your mooncakes in time for the Moon Festival. Payment can be made directly on the website when ordering using a valid credit or debit card.
