About Ding Bakery

Ding Bakery began quietly in 1990—home-baked Chinese New Year goodies shared with family and friends. Over time, word spread. Our small circle of supporters kept saying the same thing: you should go bigger.

For years, we didn’t. We were cautious about regulations and we refused to scale if it meant compromising taste and texture.

Why scaling is hard (and why we said “no” for years)

We were approached repeatedly by baking facilities that could produce volume—but the moment production moved from small batches to hundreds of bottles, quality dropped. The texture changed. The fragrance changed. “Same recipe” never tasted the same.

So we rejected those options year after year.

The turning point: a facility that agreed to our standards

Eventually, we found a partner facility in Johor that was willing to do what most wouldn’t:

  • adjust workflow and batch controls to protect texture

  • follow our process closely (not just ingredients)

  • agree contractually to safeguards that protect our recipe and standards

That allowed us to scale without turning our bakes into factory-style products.

Where we bake, and how Singapore customers are supported

Today, our goodies are baked in small batches in Johor, then sent to Singapore almost daily for customer support, tasting coordination, and fulfilment operations. Quality control is treated as a constant process—because even the same recipe can behave differently across seasons.

Quality control is not a slogan here

Each year, we make adjustments because ingredients and conditions change—yet customers expect the same melt-in-your-mouth texture every time. That is what we obsess over: consistency.

Officially launched in 2020

We became an official business in 2020—built on decades of family baking and refined by years of rejecting anything that couldn’t meet our standard.
